Dr. Moses Taiwo comes to us originally from Nigeria. He has been seminary professor at Babcock University in Nigeria since 1986, after which he and his family came to Andrews University SDA Theological Seminary, Berrien Springs, MI in 1997 to pursue a PhD in Religion (New Testament) and a minor in Old Testament Theology. In 2002, Dr. Taiwo defended his PhD Dissertation now published as Paul’s Use of Rhetoric in I Corinthians 10:29b-30. He also completed a second Doctorate in Management with emphasis in Organizational Leadership and Information Technology (DM/IST) from University of Phoenix in 2015. The title of his Dissertation is: A phenomenological exploration of issues and opportunities on physician usability of electronic medical record adoption. Dr. Taiwo’s interest in clinical ministry led him to complete the required four Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) units, and he became a Board-Certified Chaplain with Association of Professional Chaplain (APC) in 2007. Thereafter, he became interested in the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE) CPE Supervisory Training program, and he began the process learning in 2009 at Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte, NC. In November 2012, Dr. Taiwo was fully Certified by the Certification Commission of ACPE. He has served as a CPE Educator at Advocate Good Shepherd, Barrington, IL, CPE Educator and Program Manager at Spectrum Health, Grand Rapids, MI, and presently at Kettering Health, Kettering, in the Dayton area of Ohio. Dr. Taiwo is currently the Chair for ACPE Research Committee having previously served as the Chair-elect for that ACPE Board level appointment since 2018. He is also an adjunct professor of clinical ministry in several seminaries and universities within United States and overseas countries. Dr. Taiwo uses a theology of the Sabbath in the context of Matt. 11:28-30, Family system thinking of both Murray Bowen and Edwin Friedman, and Transformative Learning of Jack Mezirow and Patricia Cranton to inform his clinical supervisory works with CPE students. For him, learning or education is a liberative encounter that organically transforms both the instructor and the students in their quest for wholeness! Dr. Taiwo is married with three young adults, and he speaks seven different languages beside English.
