We offer a unique and relevant curriculum, one that proudly focuses on:
Theology and the Arts
Students can apply these concentrations to a wide range of meaningful areas, such as congregational ministry, chaplaincy, non-profit work, arts management, public policy, academia, social services, and more.
Are you ready to think critically about socio-political dynamics and reflect on the role of spiritual and theological traditions in social movements? Combining the tools of social change with practical and constructive theology, we’ll prepare you to be an innovative and effective leader in an increasingly pluralistic and complex world.
Master of Arts in Leadership
Do you see yourself in congregational community engagement, national faith-based advocacy, or organizing for eco-justice? A Master’s in Social Transformation may be right for you.
Our Doctorate in Social Justice program may be a good fit if you’re interested in growing your current ministry with competence in social transformation or shifting your ministry emphasis to that of social change.
At United, theological education is about shaping a new reality and artistic expression is one of the most powerful ways to explore what that might look like. Whether you consider yourself an artist or not, you’ll benefit from the infusion of art in everything we do.
Master of Arts
Is your career focused on academia or work in museums, galleries, or other arts organizations? If so, an MA in Theology and the Arts will be right for you.
United students proudly represent more than 20 faith traditions and religious identities, including those who claim no religious tradition at all. Interreligious engagement at United is not solely about providing hospitality and welcome but also humbly seeking knowledge and insight and growth in all of our relationships.
Master of Arts
Examine contemporary issues through critical yet appreciative engagement with the texts and theological/philosophical perspectives of multiple religious traditions.
If you’re a working chaplain with an MDiv (or equivalent) degree, the Doctor of Ministry in Interreligious Chaplaincy program will provide you with the knowledge and skills necessary to take your career to the next level.
At United, we include Public Theology as one of our four main pillars. Through this program, we encourage our students to be agents of change in the world by taking their witness into the public square.
Master of Arts
Are you interested in a non-ordained career? Our Master of Arts in Religion and Theology program will prepare you to become a public theologian and thought leader in a variety of contexts.
Are you interested in growing your ministry in service of the common good? Our Doctor of Ministry in Public Theology program will give you in-depth exposure to the academic and practical elements of theology as applied in the public sphere.
