Michelle Mueller


AFFILIATE SCHOLAR, ADJUNCT PROFESSOR

Rev. Dr. Michelle Mueller is an independent scholar and freelance minister from the Wiccan tradition. She completed a Ph.D. in the Cultural and Historical Studies of Religions Area at Graduate Theological Union, under the mentorship of Ibrahim Farajajé. She has advised masters students at Starr King School for the Ministry and has taught in various programs of religion and humanities (Santa Clara University, Starr King, Cherry Hill Seminary, and SF Bay Area community colleges). She acted as Director of Religious Education for Unitarian Universalist congregations (Unitarian Universalist Church in Cherry Hill [NJ], First Unitarian Universalist Church of Stockton [CA], and Live Oak Unitarian Universalist Fellowship [CA].)  Her book, New Religions and the Mediation of Non-Monogamy: Polyamory, Polygamy, and Reality Television, examines the complicated relationship between alternative American religions and the media representation of non-monogamies. She is currently researching racial dimensions of the rhetoric and boundaries of the contemporary Pagan studies research field. She joins us for part-time teaching and advising.
