Noam Sienna, PhD, is Visiting Assistant Professor in Religion at St. Olaf College (Northfield, MN). A scholar of Jewish culture and history, focusing especially on the medieval and early modern periods, his research interests include Jewish-Muslim relations, Jewish art, books, and material culture; food history; and gender/sexuality studies. He earned his PhD in Jewish History and Museum Studies at the University of Minnesota, and also holds degrees from Brandeis University and the University of Toronto. His first book, A Rainbow Thread: An Anthology of Queer Jewish Texts from the First Century to 1969 (Print-O-Craft Press, 2019), received the 2020 Reference Award from the Association of Jewish Libraries and the 2020 Anthology Award from the Lambda Literary Foundation. His forthcoming monograph explores Jewish book culture in early modern North Africa.
