Remembering Rev. Dr. Dayton D. Hultgren, Former President of United

(SAINT PAUL, MINNESOTA, UNITED STATES, October 7, 2024) — United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities has received news of the death of Rev. Dr. Dayton D. Hultgren, a former President and faculty member of the school. From 1971 to 1982, Dr. Hultgren led a period of growth and evolution in seminary education, overseeing milestones throughout his tenure that would have an impact for decades to come. (more…)

Obituary for Former President Rev. Dr. Benjamin Griffin

The Rev. Dr. Ben Griffin was United’s president for about 8 years in the late 80s and early 90s. He died earlier this month and we extend our prayers to his family and loved ones. Although many of us never knew him in person, his legacy of a commitment to social justice and interfaith engagement remain the hallmarks of United’s focus some 23 years later. Organizations like United are built upon the wisdom, commitment and love of leaders like Rev. Dr. Griffin. (more…)

In Loving Memory of Rev. Dr. Mary “Molly” Allison Bigelow McMillan

Many of you may be aware that Rev. Dr. Mary "Molly" Allison Bigelow McMillan died last Thursday at age 97. The naming of our Administrative building and beautiful chapel in her family’s honor is reflective of her great generosity and support for United. (more…)
