Gratitude Give Day Was A Huge Success!
#GratitudeGiveDay, Tuesday, November 14, 2017, was a wonderful success! Through the generous on-line support of many of United’s alumni, friends, faculty and staff we raised $21,975 in actual gifts. As this amount exceeded our $20,000 goal of individual gifts, it activated the $20,000 match. For the day, you helped us raise $41,975. (more…)

Obituary for Former President Rev. Dr. Benjamin Griffin
The Rev. Dr. Ben Griffin was United’s president for about 8 years in the late 80s and early 90s. He died earlier this month and we extend our prayers to his family and loved ones. Although many of us never knew him in person, his legacy of a commitment to social justice and interfaith engagement remain the hallmarks of United’s focus some 23 years later. Organizations like United are built upon the wisdom, commitment and love of leaders like Rev. Dr. Griffin. (more…)

Author Rev. Dr. Allen Hilton Speaks with United Students on Bridging Political Divides.
Is the emerging role of faith leaders to bridge political and theological divides? One biblical scholar is on a mission to do just that. Rev. Dr. Allen Hilton is the author of A House United and founder of House United Movement. Rev. Dr. Hilton previously taught Bible at Yale Divinity School and St. Mary's College of California and has been a minister for congregations in Connecticut, Washington, and Minnesota. This July, Hilton spoke to United's Religion and Politics in America class taught by Dr. Silas Morgan. Vice President for Marketing, Amee McDonald had the chance to speak with Rev. In May, the city of New Brighton approved the sale of United's campus to Global Academy. With the move approaching, President Lew Zeidner and Dean Kyle Roberts have come together to answer a few questions about United's academics, being in an urban setting, and the challenges and opportunities of relocating to St. Paul. Panel on the Art of Jimmy Reagan Video
On October 9, United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities hosted a panel about the artist Jimmy Reagan. Jimmy Reagan is internationally recognized as an Outsider Artist. Diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder, he creates in a way that isn't impeded by the rules of mainstream art. Monday's panel included Jimmy's mother Peg Reagan, Associate Professor Emerita of Theology & the Arts at United Jann Cather Weaver, and artist Jeff Anderson.
