As a hybrid, online seminary, United’s distance learning options allow you to pursue any of our degree programs without relocating to the Twin Cities while still enjoying the same level of academic excellence and community that United is known for.
HOW IT WORKS
All of United’s degree programs—MA, MAL, MDiv and DMin—can be completed fully from a distance. MDiv in Methodist Studies students, however, must complete all required United courses on campus in order to be considered for UMC ordination.
All of United’s weekly on-campus classes offer the option to participate via Zoom, a video conferencing technology that allows you to participate in the classroom experience no matter where you’re located. As opposed to many online courses which lack real-time interaction, Zoom means that you will be able to watch lectures live and engage in class discussions as if you were in the room.
Selected distance courses are offered with an asynchronous option, allowing you to complete coursework on your own schedule, without required attendance at weekly class meetings.
