Flexible & Accredited Online Courses: How They Work

Every degree at United—including the MA, MAL, MAM, MDiv, and DMin—can be completed entirely online synchronously (via Zoom) and asynchronously (without timed class meetings). As an online student, you will benefit from a supportive and tailored educational experience. Our advanced distance learning platform makes it easy to join classes via Zoom, access course materials, and connect with United’s professors and classmates.

The same esteemed faculty teaching on campus also lead online courses and engage with students through pre-recorded lectures and live virtual meetings, allowing students to engage one another on substantive social, theological, and ethical issues from their unique perspectives, supported by their instructors.

Whether you’re earning a Master of Divinity online or completing another seminary online program, you’ll benefit from our commitment to spiritual growth, theological excellence, and inclusive community.

Online Learning with a Real Community

At United, we believe that online doesn’t mean alone. As a leading online theological seminary, we blend the flexibility of distance learning with the connection of real-time interaction. With weekly classes that can be attended in person or online via Zoom. For students who prefer to attend live class meetings for some or all of their courses.

Asynchronous Online Courses

In which coursework can be completed on your own schedule, with no required synchronous meetings. This option is designed for students for whom daily work commitments require maximum flexibility.
