United Theological Seminary

Doctor of Ministry in Public Theology

The Doctor of Ministry in Public Theology program will give you in-depth exposure to the academic and practical elements of theology as applied in the public sphere in service of the common good, including knowledge of liberation theology. Through your dissertation, you’ll have the opportunity to craft your own research project in the area of public and applied theology, using your current ministry context as a base for that work.

This program may be a good fit for you if you are interested in:

  • Growing your current ministry with competence in public theology
  • Shifting your ministry emphasis to public theology

CONCENTRATION LEARNING OUTCOMES

  • apply the theologies of liberation to their own ministerial or vocational context in a way that demonstrates a deep knowledge of the field and the contributions of its key figures as well as its relevance to the work of social transformation; and
