Associate Professor of Pastoral and Spiritual Care, Program Director for Interreligious Chaplaincy
Dr. Ginger Morgan holds a PhD in Religion and Psychological Studies from Denver University and Iliff School of Theology, where she conceptualized a pastoral theological response to the experiences of burdens associated with receiving confidential disclosures. Over the course of her career, she has worked as a hospital, hospice, and college chaplain with special attention to the needs of people impacted by mental health conditions and substance use disorder, individuals at the end of life, and young adults.
Her professional and academic interests and commitments bridge the rich resources from Christian pastoral care and theology with approaches to providing spiritual care within the context of a world that is both interreligious and intercultural. She draws on feminist thought, process, and liberation theologies, and cultural and psychological studies to equip and prepare the next generation of religious leaders and chaplains. She finds it easiest to hear the still, small voice of Spirit in nature and in the quiet of gathered worship of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers).
