DESCRIPTION:The Association of Welcoming and Affirming Baptists (AWAB) is delighted to welcome Rev. Dr. William Stell as its 2026 Lecturer. United is hosting the Lecture on Friday\, September 18\, starting at 6:30 PM CT. Dr. Stell—whose lecture is titled “The Power of Queer Religious History”—is a historian of religion and sexuality and currently serves as an affiliate fellow at Princeton University’s Center for Culture\, Society\, and Religion. He previously taught at New York University. Before earning his PhD from Princeton University\, he served as pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Bordentown\, New Jersey. He is ordained in the United Church of Christ. \nIn case you didn’t know\, Rev. Dr. Justin Sabia-Tanis was AWAB’s 2025 Lecturer. His lecture\, held at Seattle First Baptist Church\, was titled “Reveal\, Resist\, and Revel: Queer and Trans Artists’ Visions of Spirituality.” \nLearn more and register.
