Queertopia United is a community of support, academic inquiry, creativity, and spiritual practice for Queer students and anyone at United interested in the field of Queer theology. Our first meeting will be Friday September 11, 2 -4 p.m. CST. We will meet six times throughout the semester. In each 3-hour session, we will spend the first half discussing pre-assigned texts from the fields of queer theory, trans theory, and/or queer theology, and the second half working on personal and professional development in relation to lgbtq topics. We will help each other practice, play, articulate, and develop queer theological lenses to be used in academic and ministerial contexts. Open to United students, faculty, staff, and alums! This group is organized by student Stephani Pescitelli with the sessions facilitated by alum Max Brumberg-Kraus. For more information view the program syllabus or reach out to stephani.pescitelli@
