Arts Lunch: “Locating Circe: Site-Specific Theatre or Worship of the Land?”
In this Arts lunch, alum Max Brumberg-Kraus (’20) will present on their recent show Circe: Twilight of a Goddess, which premiered on August 5 and ran for three nights in the Point San Pablo Harbor in Point Richmond, CA. The production was a collaboration between playwright/director Brumberg-Kraus and producer/visual artist/master-engineer Serena Elston and her floating stage Siren Island. This presentation will focus on the blurred lines between religious ecology and the creation of site-specific theatre, particularly in service of feminist and queer reappropriations of myth.
