Join us for an Evening of Recognitions and celebration as we gather back together on campus (or, if you prefer, via livestream). We are pleased to recognize these beloved faculty members and our distinguished alums on Monday, November 1, 2021.
Be sure to register to join us for these events:
5:30–6:00 PM CT: RECEPTION AND DISTINGUISHED ALUM EVENT
2020: Minn. State Rep. Rev. Todd Lippert (’03); 2021: Bishop David A. Bard (’84)
6:00–6:30 PM CT: LIGHT DINNER
Due to the ongoing impact of COVID, we will not have a reception as planned, but instead we will provide boxed lunches from Cafe Latte. We encourage you to select a lunch and find a place that is socially distanced for eating. Please return to the chapel by 6:30 PM for the Nelson Room Dedication.
6:30–7:15 PM CT: REV. DR. JAMES B. NELSON ROOM DEDICATION
As a teacher, Jim pioneered new avenues of thinking and ethics. Jim’s early voice around human sexuality, in particular, shaped and prodded the church in significant ways that are still known and celebrated. We will dedicate our largest classroom in his name.
If you have a Jim memory that you want to share, feel free to send it to Cindi Beth Johnson. We will collect them and share them with others.
7:30–9:00 PM CT: PLENARY TALK: PROFESSOR EMERITA REV. DR. CAROLYN PRESSLER
Beloved professor, effective and powerful educator, and passionate activist for social justice, Carolyn Pressler will deliver a plenary talk: “Teachers as Learners and Learners as Teachers: A Message of Gratitude.”
Sessions are held on campus, but will be livestreamed for those unable to attend in person. Questions? Contact Andrew: afox@unitedseminary.edu.
Please note: We are taking precautions to ensure the safety of everyone present. The seminary’s updated COVID policy requires event attendees to both wear a mask and to be vaccinated.
