United Days 2018: Re-Imagining: Embodiment – Day 2

Please ‘Save the Dates’ March 1-2 for this stimulating and inspiring two-day gathering of alums and friends. This year’s theme is “Re-Imagining: Embodiment” – celebrating 25 years of Re-Imagining and also James B. Nelson’s seminal work Embodiment published 40 years ago.

United Days is part of a year- long celebration (beginning November 2017 and concluding November 2018) of the anniversary of ‘Re-Imagining.’ United’s planning partners include representatives from United for the Susan Draper White Lecture (March 19-20), Hennepin Avenue United Methodist Church, Plymouth Congregational Church, Hamline University’s Mahle Lectures, and Wisdom Ways.

The second day will focus on “Looking Ahead” with conversations on pressing issues of racism, gender/ sexuality, and body size and ability. National and local theologians and academics are being invited to speak.

The first day of United Days will focus on “Looking Back,” the history of Re-Imagining with keynote speaker, Sherry Jordan, Associate Professor of Theology, University of St. Thomas, and will include Embodiment and its impact.
