Rev. Karen Hutt, Vice President for Student and Community Engagement, sends along information about an upcoming virtual event in the community. “Trauma Across Generations” will be hosted by the Center for Practice Transformation on January 14, 2022. It is free to attend and will increase awareness of the link between historical and/or intergenerational trauma and challenges in effectively engaging in the African American community. The webinar will explore the importance of being aware of unintended consequences and harm that policies and traditional approaches can have on the community. Also, it will discuss practical culturally sensitive trauma informed promising practices.
