Arts Lunch: National Poetry Month! Short Forms: Haiku and Sijo

    12:00 PM-1:00 PM
    April 6, 2021

We are starting off National Poetry Month with an interactive workshop inspired by Japanese haiku and Korean sijo. These short-form poems each represent a long tradition, influenced by Buddhism, and represent an often meditative response to a natural scene or sometimes laced with a philosophical question. We will be writing some haiku and sijo around the theme of spring.

    Contemplative Prayer Gathering

    8:00 AM
    April 7, 2021
All are invited to a sharedContemplative Gathering every Wednesday morning to gather together in silence and sit in communal contemplation. This is an opportunity to find grounding in the moment, and to share in that grounding energy with similarly self-directed explorers. The last ten minutes of the session are devoted to sharing aloud prayers that have been submitted during the week.
If you have anyone in your heart for whom you would like to request a prayer, please use this form before 7 p.m. on the Tuesday before the session to submit your request. Prayer requests will be accepted on a first-requested, first-offered basis until capacity (still being determined) is met for our available time. Please be brief in the wording of your requests. Please contact Scott Campbell for more information.
