June | June | June | 1 - Contemplative Prayer Gathering
8:00 AM July 1, 2020 All are invited to a shared Contemplative Gathering every Wednesday morning to gather together in silence and sit in communal contemplation. This is an opportunity to find grounding in the moment, and to share in that grounding energy with similarly self-directed explorers. The last ten minutes of the session are devoted to sharing aloud prayers that have been submitted during the week. If you have anyone in your heart for whom you would like to request a prayer, please use this form before 7 p.m. on the Tuesday before the session to submit your request. Prayer requests will be accepted on a first-requested, first-offered basis until capacity (still being determined) is met for our available time. Please be brief in the wording of your requests. Please contact Scott Campbell for more information. - Think Like a Lawyer, Act Like a Chaplain
6:00 PM-7:00 PM July 1, 2020 This series shows how religious freedom law and policies have been weaponized and how chaplains can be agents of resistance. Think Like a Lawyer, Act Like a Chaplain was first presented as a four-hour workshop in 2019 at the Association of Professional Chaplains (APC) annual conference. The purpose of this online, four-part series is to offer spiritual care professionals and students an opportunity to look at how weaponizing religious freedom may negatively impact our abilities to offer spiritual care in health care settings, as well as ways to resist discrimination through hate-proofing. Part I (July 1) – A New Legal and “Inconvenient Situation” Part II (July 8) – The U.S. Constitution Part III (July 15) – U.S. Supreme Court Decisions Part IV (July 22) – Spiritual Caregivers and the Legal Process Registrants can participate in one or more presentation. All presentations will be via Zoom. Register Now

12 - Virtual Conversations on Systemic Racism
2:00 PM-3:30 PM July 12, 2020 Join the ASDIC (Antiracism Study Dialogue Circles) and FREC (Facilitating Racial Equity Collective) communities as we respond to this historical moment. In light of the murder of George Floyd and countless police killings of Black and Brown people, the world is reassessing the role of both police and society at large in addressing system-wide and structural racism. We wish to look at what this moment is about, how it connects to America’s history of systemic racism, and the forces that continue to sustain racism in Minnesota and the nation. With the support of Professor Joe R. Feagin of Texas A&M University, along with Minnesota antiracist activists and scholars, we will host four 90-minute conversations over the summer. We will be on Zoom with a short breakout session after each conversation. There is no fee for these workshops, but your tax-deductible donation will allow us to continue to offer ASDIC’s unique antiracism trainings in our community and beyond. Suggested donation in support of this programming is $5 per session. Donate here. Register Now
