    Arts Lunch: Art as Activism

    11:30 AM-1:00 PM
    June 16, 2020

In the weeks following the murder of George Floyd, new murals and other forms of public art have have been created around the country as ways to protest, memorialize, and bring communities together. Join us at the arts lunch to brainstorm about similar resources and projects that we might engage — both individually and as a group.

    Contemplative Prayer Gathering

    8:00 AM-9:00 AM
    June 17, 2020
As you know, six members of the United community visited Fr. Richard Rohr at his Center for Action and Contemplation back in March, where they participated in Fr. Rohr’s contemplative prayer session. They are now bringing elements of this practice back to our United community.
All are invited to a shared Contemplative Gathering at 8:00 a.m. CST every Wednesday morning to gather together in silence and sit in communal contemplation. This is an opportunity to find grounding in the moment, and to share in that grounding energy with similarly self-directed explorers. The last ten minutes of the session are devoted to sharing aloud prayers that have been submitted during the week.
