I strive to provide an educational experience at United Seminary that results in students who leave understanding that the presence of the arts in the classrooms, worship, and in the seminary itself recognizes the integral relationship of art and theology and the role of the arts to inspire and promote theological imagination and inquiry.

Pertinent Activities

Board member, SARTS (Society for the Arts in Religious and Theological Studies). SARTS is an academic society of scholars, clergy and artists interested in the interrelationships among theology, religious studies, spirituality and the arts. SARTS purposefully sits at the crossroads of a variety of interests—scholarly, artistic and pedagogical—with the intention of fostering collaboration among them to support advanced scholarship, artistic ministries and engaged classroomss.
