About The Family Place: The Family Place is Ramsey County’s only day center for homeless families with children and is the starting point for families seeking shelter in the county. The families arrive each morning to spend their day in a welcoming, safe and supportive environment. Following a healthy breakfast, pre-school kids take part in enrichment programs. Older siblings board buses for school. Parents may meet with a stability coach, on-site County Human Services staff or participate in other learning opportunities. Two additional meals and a healthy snack are provided. Throughout each day, The Family Place helps move families closer to their goal of moving home to stable, permanent housing.
