Jay Bakker at United

Date: Saturday, November 16
Time: 7:00 PM

Location: Context Café

Cost: No charge

Description: Innovative pastor Jay Bakker, whose ministry meets regularly at Bryant Lake Bowl in Minneapolis, will pay a visit to United to talk about his ministry and discuss his latest book, Faith, Doubt and Other Lines I've Crossed. Bakker's book voices the questions Christians are thinking but won't ask: doubt about God, the Bible, heaven and hell, church, society, relationships, grace and love. In the process, he encourages all of us to welcome "the other," read the Bible differently but better, draw together in community and seek an unknown God of limitless grace.

REGISTER ONLINE. Or contact Renee Flesner, 651.255.6138.

Bio: Jay Bakker recently moved to Minneapolis from Williamsburg, Brooklyn, where he co-pastored Revolution Church NYC, a church that meets in a bar and has a strong online following. Son of Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker, Jay speaks to congregations and other groups all over the country about faith, grace and his experiences with the underside of life and Christianity. He is an outspoken supporter of the LGBT community and has performed same-sex weddings. Besides his latest book, Jay has authored Fall to Grace and Son of a Preacher Man.
