Paul Capetz at Harvard University
At the invitation of the Ancient Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations Department at Harvard University, professor
of historical theology Paul Capetz gave a lecture on December 7, 2009, entitled “Theology and the Historical-Critical Study of the Bible.” On December 8, Paul gave a second lecture, sponsored by Harvard’s Gay and Lesbian Caucus, on his perspectives on the Church vis-à-vis gay/lesbian people.

Sharon Tan speaks in Canada and San Jose, California
Sharon Tan presented “Complex Integrity: An Approach to Moral Agency for Asian Americans” at the annual meetings of the American Academy of Religion in Montreal, Canada, in November 2009, and the Society for Christian Ethics in San Jose, Calif., in January 2010.

Chris Smith, professor of preaching, was the keynote speaker on preaching at the Upper Midwest regional meeting of the Disciples of Christ minister’s retreat in Newton, Iowa, January 25-27, 2010.
