United Theological Seminary
is approved by the University Senate of the United
Methodist Church and has a long history of working
closely with the Minnesota Annual Conference. UMC graduates
serve the church in a wide range of ministries throughout
the country. Students will find a curriculum that satisfies
the requirements of the denomination and offers these
resources: |
|
| |
- One member of the resident faculty
and three members of the staff are United Methodist:
- UMC clergy act as mentors in carefully chosen field placements;
- History and Polity and the Theology of Wesleyan Traditions
are taught on a regular basis by UMC adjunct faculty members;
- As a significant community within United,
there are opportunities for UMC students to engage one another
and be in conversation with the bishop, cabinet members,
and other representatives of the Annual Conference through
the UMC Seminar;
- Ecumenical worship at United means that UMC students,
faculty, staff, and clergy have the opportunity to lead
worship in their own tradition as well as experience worship in
a variety of styles and traditions,
- The United Methodist
Hymnal is a worship resource at the seminary;
and
- All students at United have access to the seminary’s
generous program of financial aid.

would like an alum or current UMC student to contact me. |

“UTS is exactly what I was looking for long before I knew I was looking. Here I have been supported and challenged. I have questioned and stabilized my theology. I have learned shoulder-to-shoulder with people so much like me they feel like spiritual twins and people so different they open doors in my head. I am more myself having studied here than I was
before I came.”
– Chris Kliesen Wehrman,
M.Div. |
