Most of United’s graduates are preparing for pastoral ministry or chaplaincy and enroll in our Master of Divinity degree program. Others prepare for leadership of a nonprofit or other community organization. Second-career people choose us because of our commitment to meet their needs for flexible scheduling. Artists, persons preparing for public leadership, and those seeking personal renewal often choose to enroll in our Master of Arts degree program. Regardless of their reason for coming to United, our students rate us among the best in faculty effectiveness and commitment to students.
United has expanded its core curriculum to offer continuing education for clergy through its Doctor of Ministry degree and its Institute for the Support of Pastoral Ministries, which offers shorter programs focused on pastoral care and leadership and administration. We also provide education for laity through our Academy for Vital Christianity and our many on-campus events.
If you are interested in pastoral ministry, in justice and reconciliation, or in theology and the arts, United offers unique, carefully customized resources for you. We are nearly 50 years old and have numerous personal and institutional friendships as well as access to resources that go back at least that far.
United is a progressive, ecumenical seminary affiliated with the United Church of Christ. To receive our newsletter and announcements of special events, please send your name, address, and e-mail to rbecker@unitedseminary.edu.
